Thank you This CD is excellent, just what I wanted. I love Amazon, they follow through and the products that I have ordered were just what I expected.
However, for one who's just getting into these styles of music, this is a great "bang for your buck" album which will give you a reasonable introduction to many different artists and help you to find bands that suit your tastes more specifically. This is a reasonably good, if somewhat random, cross-section of Cajun and Zydeco music. Most hard-core Cajun or Zydeco fans will already have most of these cuts on other albums, and the randomness of the selections will not be fully enjoyable.
The assortment of artists and styles is thrilling. --Alyssa A. No question about it, the ten cuts on this CD are hot. If you can find a copy of this CD, grab it. Lappen Every tune is better than the last. You start with an Acadian two-step, mosie into boogie, and high tale it into accordion blues.
Great stuff. As a fiddle player, I envy the capability of guys like Michael Doucet and the Ragin' Cajun,Doug Kershaw. Their music inspires and this CD has lots of their style.
